The Islamic State moves Christians held captive; 19 children remain missing

The Islamic State group demolished a monastery in the central Syrian province of Homs.The group used bulldozers to raze the monastery in the town of Qaryatain.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that several dozen Christians being held captive were transferred to a location near its stronghold of Raqqa.

 

After The Islamic State group took the town of Qaryatain in early August, the group took captive two hundred and thirty people including dozens of Christian families.

 

Forty eight of the people taken captive by the Islamic State have been released, one hundred and ten were transferred to Raqqa and the whereabouts of seventy other people remains unclear. Among those missing are nineteen children and forty five women.
