A diplomatic area of the Afghan capital, Kabul was rocked by an explosion this morning killing at least twelve people and injuring sixty others.
A car bomb targeting a convoy carrying civilian NATO contractors detonated outside a Kabul hospital on a busy residential street on Saturday. A Nato spokesman confirmed three foreigners had been killed, as well as Afghan civilians.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack that destroyed several civilian vehicles, including a school van. Witnesses said that children were among the injured.
Following a leadership dispute with the Taliban, they have have launched a series of fatal attacks against the Afghan government in Kabul in recent weeks. Over fifty people have been killed in the a horrific outbreak of violence. Attacks have targeted both service personnel and civilians.
