A twenty seven year old man suffered potentially life-changing injuries when acid was thrown in his face outside a cinema in Crawley, West Sussex.
The victim and another man had been watching the movie Straight Outta Compton at Cineworld, at the Crawley Leisure Park on Sunday. When they left the theater and walked to their vehicle the victim was approached in the parking lot and had acid thrown over him.
Sussex police reported that the victim has acid thrown over his head and face.The victim was transported to the East Surrey Hospital for treatment but because of potentially life changing injuries, he was moved to the Queen Victoria hospital in East Grinstead for specialist care.
Police said that, “This was an isolated but nevertheless nasty and unprovoked assault.”
The assailants are said to have been driving a dark colored Peugeot car described as two white men in their late twenties or early thirties. One had dark short hair and a beard and was wearing a bag across his shoulder. The other was wearing a white or light grey hooded top and jeans.
