In the US state of California, a Santa Clara county homeless man found dead inside of his jail cell

A Santa Clara county homeless man, thirty one year old, Michael James Tyree, was viciously killed in his jail cell one week ago after three Santa Clara County correctional deputies hit him with an object causing fatal internal injuries.

Tyree, who was placed in protective custody, was found dead inside of his cell.

Matthew Farris, Jereh Lubrin and Rafael Rodriguez were arrested and charged with homicide, conspiracy and assault under the color of authority.

Tyree was being held at the Santa Clara county jail waiting to be transferred to an adult residential crisis facility, operated by San Jose based Momentum for Mental Health. A bed was unavailable at the time of his arrest.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is recommending murder charges against three correctional officers. They are all being held without bail.
