In the US state of Nevada, two Las Vegas police officers ambushed at a stoplight

Police in Las Vegas, Nevada say that an unidentified man walked up to a pair of officers who were sitting at a stoplight on Sunday and began open firing into their marked SUV.

The shooter was armed with a semi-automatic handgun and unloaded “multiple rounds” into the police vehicle, striking one officer in the hand.

The suspect was chased by the injured officer’s partner into a nearby convenience store parking lot.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Sargent John Sheahan reported that the suspect was arrested in a 7-11 parking lot where the gun he used was recovered.

The injured officer was transported to University Medical Center Trauma for his injured hand. He is expected to recover.
