Eight people, including two children have been killed in a deadly sandstorm

At least eight people, including two children have been killed as a result of a deadly sandstorm.

 

Large parts of Lebanon, Israel, Syria and Cyprus were covered in a thick cloud of dust from the storm that began over taking the region on Monday.

 

Across Syria, six people died from respiratory failure and an estimated 3500 cases of people with breathing difficulties were reported from Syria’s state-run news agency SANA.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that two children in Deir Ezzor and the Hama province were killed, including one elderly woman.

 

Lebanon’s health ministry reported that two women had died at hospitals in the eastern Bekaa Valley region because of the storm.
