At least eighty seven people have died after a crane collapsed on the Grand Mosque in the Muslim holy city of Mecca.
The Saudi Arabian civil defense authority said on Twitter that more than one hundred and fifty people have been injured in the accident.
The city of Mecca is currently preparing for the annual Hajj pilgrimage where thousands of people are expected to arrive from all over the world later this month.
Multiple media sources within the region said the crane fell during high winds which Saudi Arabia has been facing this week due to deadly sandstorms.
