Protesters in Nepal dragged a wounded police officer out of an ambulance and killed him

Protesters dragged a wounded police officer out of an ambulance and killed him on Friday in southern Nepal.

The officer, who was beaten to his death by protesters, was being transported to the hospital after attempting to go to work in the southeastern district of Mahottari.

An estimated one hundred and fifty protesters forced the ambulance to stop before dragging him out and torching the emergency vehicle.

The incident coincides  with the death of a female protester in Mahottari who was shot and killed by police.

Over thirty people, including eleven police officers and an eighteen month old child have been killed in violent clashes between security forces and protesters.
