The Islamic State group said that they are responsible for the murder of an Italian aid worker in Bangladesh on Monday.
Fifty year old, Cesare Tavella, was shot while jogging by three men on a motorcycle. Police said that the men open fired on Tavella shooting him at least three times, adding, that they believe that this was a planned shooting.
The SITE Intelligence Group reported that members of the Islamic State group claimed that a security detachment was sent to track Tavella in Dhaka and that they killed him using silenced weapons.
Authorities said that this claim by the Islamic State group raises very serious concerns for a country already facing terrorist activity against the country’s secular bloggers, journalists and activists.
Police said that they can not confirm that this is an attack by the Islamic State group.
