The Greek coast guard on Sunday reported that a badly decomposed body of a six month old child washed up on the shores of the island of Kos.
The baby who is believed to be male was discovered near a seaside hotel.
The coast guard did not release details about the child except that he was dressed in green pants and a white shirt.
The body of the baby was transferred to Kos General Hospital for an autopsy.
On Friday, the United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR said that almost 400,000 people have arrived in Greece this year alone.
