United Nations reported that the Islamic State group is paying supporters up to ten thousand dollars for each new recruit

Experts at the United Nations reported on Friday after a visit to Belgium that the Islamic State group is paying supporters up to $10,000 for each person that they recruit to fight in Syria and Iraq.

At a press conference in Brussels, Elzbieta Karska told reporters that, “We have heard  about situations where recruiters were paid from two, three thousand up to $10,000  depending on who was recruited”.

Lawyers for the UN group said that depending on the knowledge of the individual the terrorist group would pay more for that recruit.

The United Nations study group said that, “A significant degree of recruitment currently occurs through friends and family in Syria, who are also paid on the basis of the number of persons they recruit and on whether the recruits subsequently marry.”
