Restrained man dies on board an Aer Lingus flight in Ireland

A twenty four year old man who became agitated and bit another passenger on board an Aer Lingus flight from Lisbon to Dublin has died after he was reportedly restrained.


Authorities said that the man became unconscious and the captain diverted the plane to Cork, at which time, he declared a “medical emergency”.


Police said that the man was pronounced dead on board of the plane and that it remains unclear exactly why the man died.


RTE news reported that a second man was taken to hospital and that the roughly one hundred and seventy passengers and crew on board the plane were being questioned.


Authorities said that a Portuguese woman who is thought to have been traveling with the man has have taken her into custody by police after finding an unidentified substance in bags inside of her luggage.
