At least forty two people, primarily the elderly and including one child, have died on Friday after a bus and a truck collided in southern France.
French Authorities said this was the worst car accident since 1982.
According to local media the bus driver, who survived the crash, open the bus doors as he saw the accident coming so that people could escape the crash. Eight people are said to have “escaped the flames”.
French President François Hollande called the accident “a great tragedy”. He said the relatives of the victims could be assured of “the solidarity of the whole nation”.
