Pakistani journalist and human rights activist, thirty eight year old, Zaman Mehsud was shot dead on Tuesday by a gunman on a motorcycle.
Mehsud wrote for both the Daily Umet and SANA news agency. He also worked for the independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
Authorities said that four bullets were shot into the chest of Mehsud.
Hours after the horrific murder of Mehsud, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the killing telling reporters that, “We killed him because he was writing against us,” adding that, “We have other journalists on our hit list in the region and soon we will target them”.
