A military policeman in Bangladesh suffered injuries after a machete-wielding man attacked him at an army check post in what police said is the latest in a series of attacks against military personnel.
Authorities said that a man with a bloodstained machete was arrested over the attack.
Police reported that on Wednesday, two men on a motorcycle hacked a policeman to death at a checkpoint near Dhaka.
At least one of these attacks was claimed by the Islamic State group, something authorities are very hesitant to confirm and believe it is merely an attempt to destabilize the region.
Authorities firmly believe these attacks are being carried out by domestic political opponents linked to Islamist parties.
