Black teenagers asked to leave an Apple store in Australia because they “might steal something”

The Apple store in Melbourne Australia has been accused of racism after asking a group of black teenagers to leave the establishment because the staff believed they would steal something.

 

On Tuesday one of the teenagers posted a video of the incident onto their Facebook page titling the post, “Simply Racism”.

 

During the video footage an exchange can be heard between teens and one of the  Apple store staff, “These guys are just a bit worried about your presence in our store. They’re just worried you might steal something”.

 

One of the teens asks, “Why would we steal something?” The store clerk replies, “End of discussion,” adding, “I need to ask you to leave our store”.

 

The group of six teens are reported to be in the tenth grade and are of African and middle eastern descent.

 

After Apple was contacted by the teens school principal. The store’s manager agreed to meet with the teens and did apologized.
