Tanzanian miners missing for forty one days returned to find out their property had been given away because they were presumed dead.
Five gold miners were trapped underground after a shaft collapsed while they were trying to rescue eleven of their missing colleagues.
The miners reported surviving by eating soil, frogs, and cockroaches.
Rescue efforts stopped last month after a week of trying to locate the miners. One of the miners reported that his family had held a funeral for him and that his wife had left town.
Other miners reported that they could hear faint cries coming from the area where the miners were trapped and began to search for them again.
The eleven colleagues of the trapped miners were never found and are presumed dead by police.
