Nine Syrian girls are dead after the Islamic State group shelled a school

The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights reported that nine Syrian schoolgirls were killed and twenty other people mostly students were injured after the Islamic State group shelled a school in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor on Tuesday.

 

The human rights group said the death toll is likely to rise as some of those who were injured are in critical condition.

 

The Syrian government condemned the attack telling local reporters, “The terrorist rockets will not prevent us from continuing our mission of education”.
