Saudi Arabian writer jailed for four years banned from writing for fifteen additional years

A writer from Saudi Arabia who called for political reform has been jailed for four years, banned from writing for an additional fifteen years, banned from traveling abroad for five years, and fined  roughly twenty thousand US dollars.


Sixty five year old, Zuhair Kutbi,  is said to have been detained in July after making the statement that Saudi Arabia should make necessary reforms, including transforming the country into a constitutional monarchy and combating religious and political repression on Television in June.


It is not immediately clear what Kutbi has been charged with.
