Pardoned Zambian singer beats two women, including his wife

Zambian singer, Clifford Dimba, who received a presidential pardon from President Edgar Lungu in July after he was convicted of the rape of a fourteen year old girl and appointed an ambassador against sexual violence, assaulted two more women after his release.

Dimba was sentenced to eighteen years in prison but was pardoned after only one year.

Just four days after Dimba was released local media reported that he beat up his wife, this after assaulting another woman in a pub in October.

Local human rights activists said that Dimba was pardoned for writing a song that praised President Lungu during a 2014 presidential campaign.
