Burma political activist jailed for six months for mocking the military

Twenty five year old, Chaw Sandi Tun, a political activist in Burma, has been jailed for six months over a social media post that officials said mocked the country’s military.

Tun was accused of posting a group photos on Facebook that were said to have made fun of the Burmese military’s new uniforms.

The case of Tun is said to be the first prosecution for defamation in sharing content on a social media outlet.

Tun has denied all the charges and said that her Facebook was hacked.
