Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently, a group of citizen journalists exposing human rights abuse, reported on Monday that a Syrian activist who produced anti-Islamic State documentary films was assassinated in Turkey.
Thirty seven year old, Naji Jerf , was gunned down by unknown assailants in Gaziantep on Sunday. Jerf was said to be producing a documentary on the atrocities at the hands of the Islamic State group at the time he was shot and killed.
Jerf, who was editor in chief of the Syrian magazine Hentah, also reported on the daily lives of Syrian citizens.
According to local Turkish media, the murder of Jerf happened in front of surveillance security cameras.
Jerf is third journalist to be killed in the country in the last three months.
