A fifty one year old California grandmother was arrested on Tuesday in Fairfield after police said that she intentionally drowned her four year old grandson in the bathtub.
Dawn Diana Raines-Hewes was arrested and booked into the Solano County jail where she is being held without bail.
Authorities said that the four year old boy was found unconscious and could not be revived by emergency workers at the scene.
Fairfield police believe that evidence at the scene including witness statements indicate that Hewes drowned the young boy intentionally.
Police said that two other children between the ages of one and six years old were under the care of Hewes at the time of the drowning but that they were unharmed.
Authorities have not released a motive in the murder of the four year old boy.
