Two year old boy drowns after forty refugees slam into rocks off Agathonisi island,Greece

Forty refugees aboard a rubber boat slammed into rocks off Agathonisi island, Greece on Saturday resulting in the drowning death of a two year old boy.

 

Thirty nine other passengers including one woman were rescued from the freezing cold waters.

 

Survivors were taken to a local hospital and treated for hypothermia.

 

According to the coastguard, the toddler’s body was pulled from the water by fisherman who called for help as they saw the rubber vessel crash.
