Protesters in Hong Kong demand the release of publishers and booksellers abducted by Chinese authorities

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of  Hong Kong on Sunday demonstrating against the disappearance of several publishers and booksellers.

Protesters said that at least five citizens, some who are thought to carry European passports and published materials critical of the Chinese government, are believed to have been taken by Chinese authorities.

Demonstrators chanted “no to cross-border abductions” and “stop political kidnapping” while marching through the Hong Kong district of Sai Wan.

Protesters demand that Chinese authorities release the five men they say have been illegally detained over the border.
