UNICEF: Nearly twenty four million children in twenty two countries are not getting an education

The United Nations child agency,  UNICEF,  said in a report released on Tuesday that one in every four children living in a conflict zone is not in school.

Nearly twenty four million children in twenty two countries are not getting an education. According to UNICEF, these figures may be severely under reported because of the difficulty of collecting data in unstable regions.

The report indicates that in South Sudan 51% of the countries children are deprived of education making it the highest number of young people affected around the globe followed by Niger at 47%, the Sudan at 41% and Afghanistan at 40%.
