Male asylum seekers in a German town banned from a public pool

One German city has banned male Syrian refugees from using a public pool after after a series of sexual assaults on New Year’s Eve in the city of Cologne.

A city spokesman said that after women at the municipal pool in Bornheim had begun complaining of sexual harassment they immediately implemented the new measure to protect the rights of women.

No illegal incidents have been reported like the assaults in the city of Cologne, but the city spokesman said that several women began going to the manager of the refugee shelter saying the men’s behavior was unacceptable.
