Four hundred civilians abducted by the Islamic State Group in Syria

The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights reported that over four hundred civilians have been abducted in the city of Deir al-Zour after the Islamic State group killed dozens of people execution style in attacks on government held areas of the city.

 

The Observatory said at least one hundred and thirty five people were killed. Syrian state media places the death toll at nearly three hundred. Eighty five of the people killed are said to be civilians.

 

Civilians were reportedly taken from Balighia and moved to Raqqa, with all the abducted believed to be of Sunni descent.

 

The human rights group said that several people that were killed were either beheaded or crucified.
