Child and a prominent journalist among ten people killed in Pakistan

A suicide bomber on a motor bike killed ten people and injured over forty others after blowing himself up at a roadside checkpoint on a major highway in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday.


Officials said that one child along with local journalist, Mehboob Shah Afridi, was among those who were killed on the Torkham Jalalabad Highway linking Pakistan to Afghanistan.


Authorities said that several vehicles and nearby shops were damaged in the explosion.


Tehreeke Taliban Pakistan Jamaatul Ahrar or (TTP-JA) claimed responsibility for the attack that has left many of the injured in critical condition.
