The United Nations said that the violence suffered by civilians in Iraq “remains staggering” and that between January 2014 and October 2015 at least eighteen thousand eight hundred people were killed.

 

The UN also said that the Islamic State group is holding some three thousand five hundred women and children as slaves.

 

According to a newly released report, 3.2 million people have been internally displaced. Abuses by military troops, different militiamen and the Kurdish forces were also recorded by investigators.

 

The report by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights indicates that another thirty six thousand people were also wounded.
