A suicide bomber blew himself up outside of a Shiite mosque in Saudi Arabia on Friday killing two people and injuring at least seven others,
The Imam Ridha mosque in the town of Mahasen was targeted by the attackers while worshipers were holding Friday prayers.
Two attackers were followed by Saudi security personnel when one of the attackers detonated his device. The other attacker exchanged gunfire with security forces and was later arrested. Security forces said that he was wearing a vest with explosives.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but three attacks on Shiite mosques in Saudi Arabia in 2015 were claimed by the Islamic State group.
