Protesters demonstrate outside of an Australian hospital supporting a baby facing deportation

Protesters demonstrated outside of an Australian hospital in support of the doctors that have refused to discharge a baby facing deportation to a detention camp.

Officials at the Lady Cilento Hospital in Brisbane said that the one-year-old child will not be released from their care “until a suitable home environment is identified”.

According to local reporters, the little girl who is the child of parents seeking asylum suffered serious burns at the immigration detention camp on Nauru island.

The baby suffered burns after boiling water was accidentally spilled on her inside of the tent she and her parents lived in.

Protesters said that they are calling on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to do the right thing and let the family stay in Brisbane.
