A newborn baby boy was found in the toilet of a Los Angeles Subway restaurant on Monday. Police said the mother was detained after authorities followed the blood trail of the homeless woman.
Thirty-eight-year-old, Mary Grace Trinidad was found by officers behind a nearby auto parts store.
Employees who saw the trail of blood behind the woman notified police after going inside of the bathroom and seeing an umbilical cord hanging from the toilet.
The infant was transported to the hospital and said to be in critical condition after being partially submerged in the cold toilet water.
Trinidad, also wanted by authorities on drug-related charges could face additional charges, including attempted murder.
