Doctors Without Borders reports more than sixty medical facilities struck in Syria

Doctors Without Borders said on Thursday that more than sixty medical facilities supported by the organization were struck in attacks last year and many were completely destroyed.

A report released by the charity group warned Syria’s health infrastructure “has been decimated” adding that aerial assaults and shelling of hospitals and clinics are a violation of international humanitarian law.

This report comes just days after at least fifty people were killed, five medical centers and two school were destroyed by airstrikes believed to be carried out by Russian warplanes according to activists.

Doctors Without Borders did not cite that Russia carried out any of the airstrikes, only that the bombardment was deliberate.
