Police said that they have arrested a man who was just driving around randomly shooting people in Kalamazoo County, Michigan on Saturday.
Authorities said that forty-five-year-old, Jason Brian Dalton, was detained after three shooting incidents that killed six people and injured two others, including a fourteen-year-old girl.
Initial reports suggested the teenage girl was killed but authorities said she was “gravely injured” outside of a Cracker Barrel restaurant.
Police on Sunday said that there is “no reason to believe” this is an act of terrorism. Kalamazoo County Under-sheriff Paul Matyas told reporters “What it looks like is we have someone just driving around, finding people and shooting them dead in their tracks”.
Authorities recovered a weapon from the Dalton’s car and told reporters that the threat to the public was over.
The motive for the shootings is unknown at this time.
