Police in Russia arrested a woman on suspicion of murdering a child after she was found carrying a child’s severed head near a Moscow metro station.
CCTV footage showed a woman dressed in a hijab, walking near the metro station with a head in her hands.
Authorities believe the woman is the child’s nanny who after killing the child set on fire the family’s apartment.
A preliminary report suggests, “the child’s nanny, a citizen of one of the Central Asian states born in 1977, waited for the parents and elder child to leave the flat and then, for reasons not established, murdered the infant, set fire to the flat and left the scene”.
According to Russian media, Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, from the former Soviet republic of Uzbekistan pulled the child’s head out of a bag screaming “Allahu Akbar,” “I am a terrorist,” “I am your death,” and that she would blow herself up before she was tackled to the ground by police officers. No traces of explosives were found on the Bobokulova after her arrest.
The Moscow Investigative Committee said Bobokulova has been placed in psychiatric care to determine whether she is capable of understanding her actions.
