Fourteen far right activists arrested in Calais France

Fourteen far right activists were detained by police after they torched tires attempting to block migrants in Calais from entering the center of town.

The French group, Generation Identitaire, said in a statement that their activists took control of two bridges Saturday and that they want the European Union and national governments to reinstate borders.

Police said fourteen young people were detained and a truck was also seized in efforts to show the government’s “determination not to let extremist movements manipulate the migrant crisis”.
