The Syrian state news agency SANA reported on Thursday the Islamic State group abducted an estimated three hundred workers and contractors at a cement factory in Syria.
Al-Badiyeh Cement Co. told reporters that the terrorist group was holding the workers and contractors from the plant near Damascus.
The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights told reporters, at least, one hundred and forty employees of the factory were able to escape during the attack but they believe one hundred and seventy were taken as hostages.
The Syrian Observatory for Human rights said that as of Saturday most of the factory workers have been released after being questioned about their religion. Six workers said to be Druze were killed and thirty people still remain abducted.
