Anti-Islamic State group journalist and activist shot in Turkey

Journalist and anti-Islamic State group activist, Zaher AlShurqat, was shot by a masked attacker on Sunday in the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep.


The Islamic State group their media outlet, Al Amaq took responsibility for the shooting, “A security detachment that belongs to ISIS shot yesterday the journalist Zaher AlShurqat, who anchors anti-ISIS TV programs”.


Family members told reporters AlShurqat is in critical condition in a government hospital in Gaziantep.


Activists said AlShurqat was shot in the head and that this was the second attempt on his life in the last three months.
