Police in Germany freed a twenty-six year old mentally disabled woman being held captive in a neglected state by her mother while serving her an eviction notice in the German city of Rosenheim.
Officers told reporters that they believe the woman held captive for years is the tenant’s daughter.
Authorities said the woman was in a physically run down state adding she has been sent to a psychiatric hospital.
Police said the fifty-four year old mother is currently in critical condition after throwing herself down a stairwell in an apparent attempted suicide. Officials said none of her injuries were considered life threatening.
Authorities said that they are investigating the possibility of unlawful imprisonment.
